Since the beginning in 2008, giving back has been a natural extension of our work. What began as a small initiative has grown into a long-term commitment to support the women and children within the communities we are part of here in Bali.

We continue to create with intention, guided by responsibility, care, and a deep respect for people and planet.

The Hands Behind Every Thread

For over a decade, a quiet but powerful thread has run through our braided bracelet collection –  the hands of Bali’s mothers. The same hands that cook rice for their children, soothe fevers, and hold the weight of their family’s dreams. Every braid carries the love, strength, and perseverance of a mother doing her best.

Our journey began with a simple mission: to support the mothers of street children in Bali. While the island is known for its beauty, it also holds difficult realities. By offering dignified work and fair pay, we aim to create stability and support a different path forward.

These women weave not just thread, but strength, intention, and hope into every bracelet.

FOR THE CHILDREN OF TOMORROW

Since the beginning of Ananda Soul, 10% of all profits have gone toward supporting the education of underprivileged children in Bali.

We believe that education opens doors. It creates choice, expands perspective, and supports children in shaping their own path in life.

Today, we partner with the Bali Children Foundation and currently sponsor 14 children, helping provide consistent access to schooling and opportunity.

In 2021, we introduced a small collection of non-profit pieces that give 100% of profits to the causes we support. One of these is our “This Is Me” bracelet, with all proceeds going directly toward children’s education.

Each piece is a simple way to contribute to something much larger, and we are deeply grateful to share this impact with you.

What Your Support Has Made Possible

Over the years, this shared effort has supported education, created stable income for families, and helped create new pathways forward.
Since 2010, we have produced over 10,000 pieces of cord bracelets and necklaces together with the mothers we work with.

Behind every piece is something far more personal.
A child going to school.
A mother contributing to her family.
A sense of stability where there was once uncertainty.

Each bracelet carries a story. And continues to support the lives it is connected to.

Supporting Mothers, Sustaining Families

The wellbeing of mothers and their children is deeply connected.
To support one is to support both.

Through our bracelet production, we continue to work with mothers of street children, offering fair, consistent work that supports their families in meaningful ways.

In 2022, we created the Luna Crescent bracelet as a piece dedicated entirely to this mission.

A visit to the children we support

SHOWING UP IN TIMES OF NEED

Our work has always extended beyond long-term initiatives. In moments of crisis, we respond where support is needed most.

In March 2020, we launched our “Adopt a Family” project in response to the increasing hardships faced by the Balinese community during COVID-19. Bali, an island deeply dependent on tourism, was closed to visitors throughout 2020 and 2021. As businesses closed and incomes disappeared, many families were left without support.

During this time, we gathered donations and stayed in close conversation with our community to understand what was most needed. Centering the well-being of families here in Bali, particularly in the most difficult of times, is central to who we are as people, and as a brand. 

In October 2021, a strong earthquake struck Northwest Bali. This region had already been deeply affected by the Mount Agung eruptions in 2017 and the economic impact of the pandemic. More than 377 family homes were destroyed, leaving many without shelter or basic necessities. In response, we redirected profits from our Friendship Bracelets to provide essential supplies including mattresses, hygiene products, water containers, cooking equipment, and everyday household items.

Our team personally delivered these supplies to families in the affected areas. We continue to show up where support is needed, standing alongside our community in both stable times and moments of crisis.

The hearts behind Ananda Soul

Ananda Soul wouldn’t be where it is today without a group of incredible beings from all over the world. We grew from a team of 2 people in 2008 to over 30 team members today. Together, we nurture something that feels like family, a sense of connection that has always been at the heart of how we work.

Our team shows up for their families, their loved ones, themselves, and for each other, and through that, for our work and our brand. This interconnectedness is something we feel honored to grow alongside.

We pursue an ethos of no burnout, continuously adapting our processes to support each individual. We are committed to creating nourishing and inspiring working conditions, with hours that honor the needs of each person and their family.

Alongside health insurance, bonuses, and adequate vacation time, we offer additional support such as monthly massages, yoga, and meditation classes. We care for one another, and that care extends into everything we create.
