As the holiday season approaches, it's common to feel a mix of excitement and overwhelm at the same time. There are gatherings to plan, gifts to buy, and a to-do list that seems to grow by the day. With darker days (in the Northern hemisphere) approaching people may experience seasonal affective disorder (SAD) during these coming months, which can heighten feelings of stress and sadness. Now, more than ever, it's essential to prioritize self-care, and journaling can be an incredibly grounding ritual to help us find peace, clarity, and perspective amid it all.
Take Time for Yourself
In our busy, fast-paced lives, we often neglect our own needs. Carving out just ten minutes a day for journaling can be an act of kindness toward ourselves. Writing down our thoughts, worries, and dreams is a way to process the complexity of our emotions. Journaling isn’t just an activity; it’s a way of honoring the commitment to take time for ourselves and recognize that our mental well-being matters.
The Ritual of Self-Care in Busy Times
Journaling is a simple, accessible practice that can be done anytime and anywhere. When we create a regular habit of writing, it becomes a comforting ritual—a time to check in with ourselves, set intentions, and put our feelings into words. When life gets hectic, taking even a few minutes to journal can serve as a pause button, allowing us to regroup and reconnect with what really matters.
Do you remember our Moon Journal?
Last year we launched a beautiful labor of love. Our Moon Journal is a beautiful and precious piece of art that is inspired by all phases of the moon and the vibrance of life. It is a design that carries all human shapes at any stage of life in mind. It has the intention to take you onto a journey of Self, 365 days a year.
With the year slowly drawing to a close and many of us in search of new journals and calendars, we want to take the time to take you on a little journey with our Moon Journal.
Our Moon Manifest supports you in finding your intention and sincerity with integrating a new habit into your life.
“Dedicating time to myself will include taking moments to write
into this journal, to give my thoughts and emotions the words that
honor them, to uncover my deepest longings and passions and
reclaim my power and purpose in this life. Just like the moon I
walk through phases – I acknowledge that all is perfect at all
times, whether I am capable of illuminating my blessings or not at
a certain moment in time.”
2. Define your biggest goals for the coming year
To keep an “eye on the prize” as we move through life’s ups and downs can be of great support as we surf the waves that can sometimes give us a big shake up or make us tumble and fall. This is your invitation to take a comfy seat and let your thoughts rise, so you may or may not become clear on what it is you want to call in for the next 12 months (or more) ahead. What is it that your deepest heart desires? Where do you see yourself? What are you calling in?
3. A little structure never hurt nobody
Every month comes with a few pages that are reserved for To Do Lists and little notes, gratitude journaling and what you are desiring to move away from and towards?
4. Self-care matters
…and that’s why we have a little reminder for you each month to check on your habits, your mood and all the things you should be doing for yourself on a regular base.
5. Living with the moon
With our Moon Collection and this moon journal in the making we ourselves have begun to attune our lives stronger and with a lot more depth to the phases of the moon and through this work were reminded of our true wild and free-spirited nature.
And so every month we ask ourselves – what have we experienced with this New and Full Moon? Write it out!
6. Half way through the year…
…we want you to check in with yourself, and how you’re feeling. So here’s a little checklist that will do it for you.
7. Prompts that make life a little sweeter
Whether that is a hand-drawn picture of your best friend, the magic of different symbols you may find around you, the letter you need to write to someone you need to forgive or a drawing of your dream house or spirit animal you’d like to be reborn as – we integrated playful and charming prompts that make you draw, sketch, be honest with your self and giggle your heart out.
8. Closing out the year
Our last page gives you the opportunity to review on the last 12 months - how it began, what you wished for, resolutions/intentions and the best food you had throughout these months. Also a note to your future self – something it will surely appreciate.
Embracing Journaling as a gentle, ongoing practice
When days get hectic, journaling is the one thing we recommend to give yourself time with at least every single day for a few minutes.
Making journaling a part of your routine can bring clarity and peace, allowing you to feel more grounded and present, especially in seasons of change.
