It's time to celebrate: our beloved team and Indonesia's Independence Day!

Apart from our creations there is one particular part of Ananda Soul that we are madly in love with and that we feel the urge to celebrate regularly: our team.

Ananda Soul wouldn’t be where we are today without the fun and crazy bunch that makes up our team. What started with only two people in 2008 grew to a team of 31 in total as of 2024 – including our freelancers near and far – an achievement we are truly proud of as we know we have carefully handpicked the softest, most present, loving, resilient, fun, beautiful and smartest group of humans (mostly women) that all pour their heart and soul into our brand. This team is held together by the bond of a family and we are all in for the same ride. Over the last years we have regularly posted updates from our team, introduced our management team, as well as our fulfillment team. Give them a read, if you wish to know more about the individuals behind our brand.

Family values at heart

We always dreamed of leading a company culture that finds its footing in cultivating a sense of family at work. The women (and 2 men) in our business show up for their families, their loved ones and themselves, for each other and – for our mutually shared intention that connects us – also for our work and our brand. Nothing falls short – whichever direction the love goes, it comes back tenfold.

We are extended family for one another and through this we promote a culture of reciprocity, care and mutual respect.

August 17th is Indonesia’s Independence Day

Every year on August 17th, Indonesia bursts into vibrant celebrations, marking its independence from Dutch colonial rule in 1945. This day, known as Hari Kemerdekaan, is not just a commemoration of freedom, but a powerful reminder of the values that also unite Indonesians as a nation.

And while we could celebrate our team on every single day of the year of any calendar, Gregorian or Balinese, it is on this particular day that we remind ourselves and each other of the values that drive our togetherness and our shared creations.

Life is always a team effort

Life in Indonesian, more so in Balinese culture is always a collective effort and through this always a testament to the power of unity.

Family is the cornerstone of Indonesian society. Independence Day celebrations often bring families together, reinforcing bonds and fostering a sense of belonging. From preparing traditional dishes to watching parades and participating in games, these activities strengthen familial ties and create lasting memories. Balinese culture places a high value on respect for elders and the importance of supporting one another, principles that are often passed down through generations. These values are evident in our workplace as well, where a sense of familial loyalty often translates into a supportive and harmonious atmosphere.

The themes of teamwork, family values, and a robust, but loving and fun work ethic are interwoven into the fabric of all we create, serving as a reminder of what can be achieved through unity.

So let’s celebrate the wonderful family, the island and this country…!
