We are about to turn the corner into September and for many the sweet, slow days of summer have come to an end – it is time to go back to work – and to school.

For some children it marks a particularly important time in their life, as they begin school for the first time, others make their way back to the auditoriums of their universities and for some home schooling begins.

And then there are these parts in our world that are facing a different reality: one where children are challenged to go to school at all.

The Bali Children Foundation: our mission is to support

In September 2021 we started to support the Bali Children Foundation, a foundation that focuses on enabling education for children from Balinese families in need as a way out of poverty, paving the way from education to employment.

Our current support focuses on covering the tuition fees of a total of 11 children in order for them to receive access to proper education.

The Bali Children Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation on our home island dedicated to helping children in Bali escape poverty through education. It is their mission to create better futures, so that the kids become more than just statistics and can make their dreams come true, ultimately helping not only their selves but also their families.

10% of all our profits as well as a selection of our non-profit bracelets form our ongoing monthly donation in support of school-level children. This year’s Back to School Sale adds on to support this project and this year we come with a special mission:

With this year’s Back to School campaign with intend to raise the funds for two of our kids to be able to complete school all the way through high school.

Meet Diah and Made

Diah Ayu

Diah is a beautiful 12 year old girl who loves to dance. She aspires to become a teacher one day  and her favorite subject is Bahasa (language). She is the only child in her family.

We are USD 1,760 (IDR 27,280,000) away from ensuring she graduates high school.

Yulia

Made is 12 years old as well and would love to be a policeman one day. His hobbies are playing football and Bahasa is his favorite subject.

USD 1,760 (IDR 27,280,000) are needed for him to cross the finish line of education.

We are looking forward to see them complete school and see them pursue their dreams to a hopefully happy and healthy life.

A different world

Bali has its rich and its poor and its visible and invisible sides. Recent government reports show that, 1 in 10 (or 10%) of children will fail to graduate from high school. Poverty is common and widespread, particularly in remote communities beyond the reach of tourists.

Since our first days we have always supported the education of Balinese children, because we believe that the future and with that a better tomorrow lies in the hand of the upcoming generations. Education doesn’t only involve literacy and maths, but also social interaction, play, ritual and compassion.
