September is finally here and for many with it the sweet, slow days of summer are coming to an end – the reality says: it is time to go back to school.

Whether parents are sending their children off to school for the first time, students make their ways back to the auditoriums of their universities and home schooling programs commence, there are parts in our world that have been facing a completely different reality – one where we find children struggle to go to school at all.

Our mission is to support

Last year our brand returned to its original mission of being of support to mothers and particular children and their education (side note: after the outbreak of Covid-19 we had shifted our focus on supporting local communities, particularly underpriviledged families, through the delivery of food packages with our Adopt a family program – read more on our Giving back approach here).

The Bali Children’s project

With last year’s Back to School Sale we started to support children through The Bali Children’s Foundation by covering their tuition fees in order for them to receive access to proper education.

The Bali Children’s Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation on our home island dedicated to helping children in Bali escape poverty through education. It is their mission to create better futures, so that the kids become more than just statistics and can make their dreams come true, ultimately helping not only their selves but also their families.

With the help of our dear customers we can proudly say that we are today supporting a total of 11 children. It makes us incredibly happy to receive regular updates on their progress and whereabouts, often times through personally written letters and drawings.

The kids we support

The kids we support are incredibly sweet and an inspiration to us, hence, we decided this year to offer you greater insight into the little personalities that we are lucky to support through the Bali Children’s Foundation.

Your support falls into the little hands of the beautiful Ketut, Krisna, Jero, Ade, Diah Ayu, Dina, Gede, Made, Wayan, Misi and Putu.

Here are a few of our kids:

♥ Krisna Jaya

Sweet Krisna is now 10 years old and from a family with 6 siblings. He is the 5th child and loves to play football and wants to become a teacher one day.

♥ Ketut Warnata

Ketut is the third of 3 children and is 9 years old. His favorite subject is Maths and he wants to be a guide one day.

♥ Ni Misi

Ni Misi is the 2nd daughter of farm labourers. She loves Maths, is 11 years old and her dreams are big – she wants to become a doctor one day.

A different world

Bali has its rich and its poor and its visible and invisible sides. Going off recent government reports, 1 in 10 (or 10%) of children will fail to graduate from high school. Poverty is common and widespread, particularly in remote communities beyond the reach of tourists.

Since our first days we have always supported the education of Balinese children, because we believe that the future and with that a better tomorrow lies in the hand of the upcoming generations. Education doesn’t only involve literacy and maths, but also social interaction, play, ritual and compassion.

Our BACK TO SCHOOL Sale

As you or a loved one are getting ready to go back to school, we encourage you to seek out an opportunity to support somebody else with the same blessing. To share a piece of education.

From September 1st to 10th we are running our annual ‘Back to school’ sale which gifts you 15% off our entire collection (except for sale & non-profit items). 10% of all proceeds will be donated to the Bali Children’s Foundation to ensure Bali’s kids stay in school.
